EID AL-HADHA

July marks a key date in the Muslim calendar, Eid Al-Hadha, when families come together in celebration of all the blessings they have received. It will be celebrated between the 19th and 23rd July, in accordance with the Lunar calendar.

The story behind the festival is that of Ibrahim and when he had a dream that he believed was a message from Allah. The dream told him to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. The devil tempted him to disobey Allah and spare his son, but as Ibrahim was about to sacrifice Isma’il, Allah stopped him and gave him a lamb to sacrifice in his place. This festival happens on the last day Hajj, the pilgrimage to Makkah in Saudi Arabia.

There have been few occasions in the last year that have happened surrounded with friends and family, and ask lockdowns ease around the world, it seems that this occasion will see families coming together once more. To mark the special celebration, here is Tateossian’s style guide to ensure you are dressed for the occasion.

Every piece will add to the celebration.
