Celebrate Easter with Tateossian

Celebrate Easter with Tateossian

6 minute read

Religious festivities, chocolate, family gatherings, a break from work — no matter your reason for celebrating Easter, everyone can agree it’s a time for unbridled joy.

While the rest of the world is searching in the hedges and nooks of the garden, you don’t have to look too far to find your ideal Easter treat. Add some luxury to your basket with a gift for yourself or your loved ones during this celebratory time.

Celebrating Easter

Much like Christmas, Easter is a holiday steeped in strong religious beliefs but anyone can take part in it. Many people, of faith and not, delight in the pastel colours and cheerful imagery of the occasion.

Defined as a “moveable feast” — meaning it doesn’t have a set date like Christmas — Easter falls on the first Sunday of April, following the first full moon of the spring equinox. It coincides with the arrival of Spring in the northern hemisphere.

Christians celebrate Easter as the time Jesus died and was resurrected three days later. While there are many other events leading up to Easter, such as Lent and Palm Sunday, these three days are highly significant in the Christian faith.

While Easter is an important time for Christians, many more cultures refer to it as Pesach, Pascha or Passover. Easter and Passover occur at the same time as it’s believed that Jesus’s death and the events surrounding it occurred over the Passover period. Whereas Easter celebrates the rebirth of Christ, Passover celebrates the liberation of Hebrew slaves in Egypt and the “passing over” of an Angel, sparing the life of the firstborn son.

Both occasions bring together families to celebrate their faith and customs. Interestingly, both Easter and Passover use eggs as symbolism but for different reasons. Eggs symbolise rebirth in Judaism while in Christianity they represent Jesus’s tomb. The idea of the Easter bunny doesn’t have roots in either event, although many Christian churches embrace the concept. Many speculate that the tradition of the Easter Bunny stems from the German “Easter Hare” or “Osterhase” legend. Although the legend has many iterations, as folklores often do, the common theme was a hare that either hid or laid colourful eggs for children to find. With German immigrants settling in America during the 18th and 19th centuries, this story was adapted into the modern-day Easter Bunny.

Easter traditions to try

Those who celebrate the religious events of Easter and Passover look forward to the time spent with family and the lavish feasts, all very symbolic of their respective faiths. But it’s become common for non-religious families to embrace the Easter spirit. While your time may not be spent in prayer or Church, there are other ways you can celebrate this happy time.

For families with children, the answer is simple: chocolate and Easter eggs. A traditional hunt for these coveted treats will get anyone excited. As an alternative idea, and for those old enough, go bar-hopping on an Easter keg hunt to find the best pint.

Even if you aren’t religious, many traditions are still worth including — like bringing the family, or your chosen family, together for a grand meal. A lamb or pork dinner is the traditional choice, and Easter brunch is the modern preference. You can also take advantage of the spring weather and take the festivities outside with a picnic.

While Easter is a time for family, it’s also a time to give joy. You can use this opportunity to spread hope and happiness further than just your inner circle. The Tateossian Armenian Church Pendant is a luxury piece as well as a charitable donation, with 30% of its retail proceeds being donated. Read more about it here.

With its palette of cheerful colours, Easter is the time to dress up. The new season is heralding an era of “dopamine dress” — the latest trend is dressing to promote happiness (read more about spring trends here). You don’t need to go to church to wear your “Sunday best”. Make the most of the occasion with your version of Sunday best and then accent it with a new Easter-inspired accessory.

Duck Rodeo collection

Rabbits are most commonly associated with Easter, but ducks aren’t an odd creature to spot during this time. Both animals are connected with the idea of new life which is very fitting for both the season and occasion. This Easter, capture the joy and optimism of the season with a new accessory that is quirky (and that you might even call “quacky”).

The Duck Rodeo collection is the perfect addition to your Easter Day outfit. It’s eye-catching because of the unusual but charming combination of a sodalite duck and a silver cowboy hat. If “fun” could be captured in a luxury accessory selection, it would be the Duck Rodeo collection.

Inspired by a rubber duck, the body is carved out of sodalite which is known for its blue colour — in fact, it’s often mistaken for lapis lazuli. The natural mottling and veining of this semi-precious stone adds texture and dimension to the pieces. The process to carve this pendant is so intricate that it takes 6 weeks. Then, as a final touch, each duck comes with its own accessory of a rhodium-plated sterling silver cowboy hat.

No matter how you’re spending your Easter break, find the perfect companion to your outfit from the Duck Rodeo collection. For an occasion that requires a bit more formality, but also more personality, go for the Duck Rodeo cufflinks. For a more casual option, the Duck Rodeo pendant necklace features the adorable character on a 22-inch rhodium-plated sterling silver chain. Finally, make this accessory the focal piece of your Easter attire with the Duck Rodeo pin.

Caviar pentagon cufflinks

While Easter is known for its powdery pastel hues and youthful colours, spring is the season of colour so don’t be afraid to bring some sophisticated boldness to the celebrations. Make this occasion your own with a unique choice in accessories that embraces colour but on your terms.

The caviar pentagram cufflinks are a vibrant and striking addition to your outfit that align with the season’s trend of dopamine dressing. These designer cufflinks feature a faceted pentagon window design crafted from a gunmetal plated base metal. Encased within this window are glass caviar beads — small beads that naturally tumble with the movement of your wrist. They offer a dimension of interest that only a dynamic pair of cufflinks can achieve.

This collection of luxury cufflinks comes in four colour choices: greenredblue and, for a monochromatic option, black.
